PRESS: Huawei supplies no equipment, may leave Russia entirely

MOSCOW, Oct 31 (PRIME) -- Chinese telecom equipment maker Huawei has fully ended direct shipments of smartphones to Russia and may leave the country entirely, daily Izvestiya reported on Monday citing sources.

A person close to one of the mobile operators told the daily that the Chinese vendor does not import equipment any more, while another source confirmed that Huawei does not supply its devices directly.

News and research agency TelecomDaily Director Denis Kuskov told the daily that “the company stopped supplying base stations for mobile connection in spring.”

Huawei’s official store still offers some items, but they are leftovers.
